Outlook:
This is one the great rivalries in today's NHL. This series promises everything, skilled players, flashy goalies and strong emotions. These two teams are both legitimate contenders for the Cup.

Detroit has been resting after completing a sweep of Los Angeles, which included two shutouts. The Red Wings look really good and they are hungry for their third cup in four years.

This might be the best Avalanche team ever. After the trade that brought Ray Bourque and Dave Andreychuk to Colorado the team has looked invincible.

Prediction:
Avalanche in seven.
